Learn to play some of the basic rhythms used in Middle Eastern music and dance: Maksoum, Masmoudi Saghir (Beledi), Chifti Telli, Moroccan 6/8 and more. Ideal for dumbek (tabla beledi) players, frame drummers, arabic tambourine players, and dancers who wish to learn more about the rhythms of the dance. Beginners to Intermediates welcome. Emphasis on traditional Middle Eastern drums. Bring your own, some drums provided. Tambourines, frame drums, zills encouraged. $60 for 6 week session, Tuesdays 8:30-9:30pm. Email dunyah@earthlink.net.
