Q& A:

I’m a beginner, but I love to watch sword dance! Can I sign up?

The Dangerous Sword Intensive is geared for intermediate (and advanced!) belly dancers who already have some sword dance experience (at least the basics!). It’s recommended that you have a minimum of 1 year of belly dance lessons, and that you have some experience balancing a sword on your head while moving–at least a beginner workshop or two. If you are totally new to sword, you’d benefit from taking one of my sword basics workshops first, so that you don’t get frustrated with the fast pace of the Intensive.

Can I fly in?

Yes. You can fly in to Eugene or to Portland.

The closest Airport: Eugene Mahlon Sweet Airport. You can also fly into Portland, Oregon take the HUT shuttle or Bolt Bus (or a car) to Eugene, 2 hrs drive south. Need help getting from the airport to your lodging?  Just ask! I have several student helpers who can give rides!

Where can I stay?

There are lots of options, from home-stay to B&B’s to Air B&B to cheap hotels to fancy ones! A friend of mine has a neat vrbo rental, too. Click here for some links. I have a  couple of home-stay spaces, too. Email sabinedance@gmail.com.

I’m flying in, and I don’t want to travel with a sword. Can I borrow one?

Sure, I have many swords to loan. And, we will also be using wooden prop swords that I provide for practice  of the movements and manipulations, so we can survive many hours of sword without our arms falling off!

H0w do I sign up?

Click here for the registration form. To hold a spot, or if you have questions, please email a message with the dates of the session of interest to sabinedance@gmail.com. You can paypal your $50 deposit to sabinedance@gmail.com. The balance is due 3 weeks before your selected intensive.

Can I take Dangerous Sword Intensive 1 more than once?

Absolutely. I’ve had many people take the intensive more than once (I’ve had several dancers take it 3-4 times!).  The intensive is never the same twice, and dancers tell me they learn something new every time.
